We are currently seeking actors to cast in our new student film production ‘Saving Momia Mona’. Logline: The film follows Esmeralda, a young womanwho discovers the remains of her ancestor—a deconstructed mummy—on display in a foreign museum.

Our deadline for signups is FEBRUARY 18. These roles are non-union.

Organized in collaboration with the UBC Film Journal Cinephile, the conference offers an excellent opportunity for undergraduate students to get a glimpse of post-undergrad scholarly work, especially if they are considering pursuing graduate studies or wanting to improve their CVs as they enter the professional world. We welcome submissions of all kinds.

In collaboration with @friendsofmsfubc, we are excited to be holding a fundraiser NEXT THURSDAY. We will be screening two comedic action films: The Nice Guys (2016) at 6pm, followed by 21 Jump Street (2012) at 8pm.

Doors will open for the first screening at 5:45pm.

Lyd by Rami Younis & Sarah Ema Friedland, is a speculative documentary that follows the rise and fall of Lyd - a 5,000-year-old metropolis that was once a bustling Palestinian town until it was conquered when the State of Israel was established in 1948 and was renamed Lod.

Lyd dares to ask the question: what would the city be like had the Israeli occupation of Lyd never happened?
